About Us:
McInnis Inc. is a growing HR & Recruiting firm serving clients in municipalities, pharmaceuticals, and hospitality. As we expand, we need an experienced IT Consultant to manage and optimize our Microsoft 365 environment, SharePoint permissions, and IT. This role will focus on policy management, Microsoft 365, staff training, and troubleshooting.
Position Overview:
The IT Consultant will work 10-15 hours per week, providing expertise in Microsoft 365, SharePoint access controls, policy management, user training, and general IT support. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Microsoft 365 services and be able to implement best practices for security, compliance, and performance. The positions is onsite in Milford, CT
Key Responsibilities:
- Microsoft 365: Manage and optimize Microsoft 365, including Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Azure AD.
- Policy & Compliance Management: Develop and enforce Microsoft 365 security policies, access controls, and compliance settings to ensure proper data governance.
- SharePoint Permissions Management: Configure and maintain SharePoint permissions and access controls and compliance with data security policies.
- Staff Training & Support: Conduct training sessions for employee on Microsoft 365 best practices, SharePoint permissions, document management, and security protocols.
- IT Infrastructure Support: Provide troubleshooting and technical support for Microsoft 365 applications, Windows environments, and basic network issues.
- User Management: Oversee account provisioning, permissions, and group policies within Azure AD and Microsoft 365.
- Security & Access Control: Implement best practices for user roles, device management, and secure data sharing in Microsoft 365.
- AppRiver Management: Support email security, spam filtering, and threat protection using AppRiver to enhance cybersecurity and email management.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3+ years in Microsoft 365 administration, IT consulting, or system administration.
- Technical Skills:
- Microsoft 365 Administration: Expertise in managing Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Azure AD.
- SharePoint Permissions & Access Control: Strong knowledge of SharePoint site structures, user roles, and permission management.
- Policy Management & Compliance: Experience with Microsoft 365 security settings, access policies, and compliance controls.
- Windows & Cloud IT Support: Strong troubleshooting skills in Windows environments, cloud platforms, and basic networking.
- Email Security: Familiarity with AppRiver email security solutions or similar software.
- Training & Communication Skills: Ability to educate non-technical staff on IT best practices.
- Detail-Oriented & Problem-Solving Mindset: Ability to identify and resolve IT challenges proactively.
Hours & Compensation:
- Commitment: 10-15 hours per week (flexible schedule, between 8:30am-5:30pm).
- Compensation: Based on experience and qualifications.
